A good project should not only benefits a single person, but the whole society and mankind. Therefore, our YAU-China team hopes to popularize and publicize our projects, biosynthesis and iGEM in the process of carrying out our project. We hope that you can learn some theoretical and practical knowledge, increase your knowledge, Broaden your horizons and enhance your literacy from our project. It will bring a huge impact on our future work and life.
WeChat Public Number
In China, WeChat is one of the most popular apps, and the WeChat public platform (the public number) is a way for individual or organization to conduct their own media activities. Using the public account platform for self-media activities, simply speaking, is to carry out one-to-many media activities. For instance, merchants use the application of public WeChat service number through secondary development to show the business micro-official website, micro-members, micro-push, micro-payment, micro Activities, micro-registration, micro-sharing, micro-business cards, etc. This have formed a mainstream online and offline WeChat interactive marketing approach. In view of its great influence, we applied to establish the WeChat public number of our YAU-China. The purpose of doing this is to introduce our team, our project, synthetic biology and iGEM competition.
At the same time, we will update our latest project progress on the public account to let more people know about our project, our team, the synthetic biology and iGEM competition.
Into the Laboratory
Experiment is a scientific method for people to understand and study matter.
According to research object and purpose, we use scientific and theoretical knowledge as well as experimental method to carry out exploratory practice activities purposefully. The laboratory is the place for conducting experiments, the cradle of science, the base of scientific research, the source of scientific and the development of technology. It plays a very significant role in cultivating the next generation with great aspiration for our nation. Microorganisms have a huge correlation with human production and life. In particular, the prevalence of various infectious diseases are due to the microorganisms. Pupils are in an important period of physical and psychological development. They are susceptible to various infectious diseases. However, owning to their young age and lack of understanding to microorganisms, their awareness is not strong enough. In terms of this, we organized an activity by asking the primary students from Yan’ an university inflicted primary school to enter the microbiology laboratory. On September 28th, under the leadership of the class teacher and our team members, the children entered the microbiology laboratory, learned about some common microorganisms and started making medium and observing some microscopic sections with a microscope. In this event, we opened up the world of microbes for the children, they were very curious and excited. In the activity, they not only exercised their own hands-on ability, and improved their cognitive level, but established their own scientific research ideals. Finally, our team members took a group photo with the children and presented them with exquisite small gifts that we had prepared in advance.
School Promotion
Having finished experimental part of the project, we set up a publicity and consultation platform on campus. We placed a panel in order to get more people know about our project Team members were dispatched to answer questions for students daily and invited them to the synthetic biology and iGEM competition.
Then, we conducted a presentation about synthetic biology and iGEM in the fifth lecture hall of Yan' an University on September 26. We mainly introduce synthetic biology, iGEM to the students from our college. The students listened carefully and had a good interaction with our team members. They also put forward a lot of questions about synthetic biology and iGEM competitions, and we answered them one by one.
